ACCOUNTANT JOB DESCRIPTION A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is generally required. Preparing and analyzing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements (profit and loss), and cash flow statements. Reconciling bank statements and accounts payable/receivable to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies. Performing internal or assisting with external financial audits to ensure compliance with established accounting principles (like GAAP or IFRS) and internal controls. Assisting management in developing budgets, creating financial forecasts, monitoring performance against these projections, and analyzing variances. Assessing financial operations, identifying risks, and recommending ways to reduce costs, enhance revenue, and improve overall financial performance. Proficiency in accounting software (eg., QuickBooks, SAP, XERO) Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain complex financial data.
